Description of the position:
We’re looking for a Cloud FinOps Specialist for its global operations in Madrid. He/She will take ownership of cloud financial operations, ensuring efficient, transparent and sustainable scalation.
Key Responsibilities and tasks:
@ Own Azure’s FinOps strategy: cost visibility, allocation, and optimization.
@ Collaborate with engineering teams to design cost-efficient architectures and promote cloud cost awareness.
@ Partner with Finance to forecast cloud expenses, align budgets, and support reporting needs.
@ Implement and manage FinOps tools and dashboards.
@ Define and enforce governance policies.
@ Lead cloud cost reviews, anomaly detection, and savings initiatives.
@ Stay current with Azure pricing models, service updates, and best practices.
Working Experience & Tech Skills
@ Proven experience in FinOps or cloud cost management, ideally with Microsoft Azure.
@ Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, billing models, and optimization techniques.
@ Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
@ Experience with Azure Cost Management, CloudHealth, Cloudability or similar tools would be an asset.
@ Familiarity with SaaS metrics, unit economics, and cost-to-serve models (desirable).
@ Exposure to startup scaling challenges and rapid cloud growth (desirable).
Soft skills
@ Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile startup environment.
@ Leadership capabilities.
@ Ability to work cross-functionally with different teams (engineering, finance).
@ International work experience working with international teams
Education and Training:
- Bachelor’s Degree: In information technology, or a related field.
Certifications:
- FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar certification would be valued.
Languages:
- Spanish: Very good Business Spanish required (excellent communication skills). B2 level.
- English: Very good Business English required (excellent communication skills). B2/C1 level.
Job Conditions:
Job location: Tres Cantos (Madrid). European Union nationality otherwise EU/Spain work permit required as a prerequisite.
Employment Type: Permanent Full Time, as internal employee.
Salary: Depending on qualification and experience.
Work from home: Hybrid working model including the possibility of working from home (70%) but according to the specific needs that may arise from the perspective of project development, department, clients, and/or partners.
